Shake Mix and Evil Dolls

Work was actually really nice today. I spent the majority of my day in grill. I usually get to work breakfast grill (I am much, much better at it) but lacking real grill bodies today I got to stay on table making sandwiches all day. Actually it was full of girls for a change. It was nice rocking it and watching the boys up front. :P

It was a much needed break. I have, after all, been doing the same thing nearly everyday for the last year and two months.

I also made off with what may or may not have been a near gallon of eggnog shake mix we can no longer use because a certain manager thought he was joking and I said heck yes.

No picture because it... didn't happen... >.>

I'm gonna put it in something. Anything. Hell, I have so much I can put it in EVERYTHING. I'll figure something out.

We attempted to get Michi her passport today. We failed miserably but we did get to see her mom and get out of the house. Everett isn't so bad on a beautifully sunny albeit cold as hell Winter's day.

We also got her pictures, a copy of her birth certificate and to see...

...this.

It was all there was in a store front on our way to get her birth certificate. It's... dolls and... a fake cat and... a mannequin watching over them..? ...it feels evil.

Birthday post coming soon! I promise! Just have to get some pictures from Hana. ^^ Stay tuned!

Real People Clothes

I am almost to the end of my work week. Tomorrow is the last of fourteen! Just one more day to go...

Instead of my usual 4,5,6am shifts I actually started at eleven today. So I got to put on real people clothes and take the bus. I grumble my way out the door but I actually really like to ride the bus. It's free and I get a lot of reading in without any interruptions. I think it's the only way I would ever get anything read.

(I'm three fourths through my book and Oh my God what the heck is going on?!!)

This is the view from the end of my driveway while I wait for the bus. In the early morning it's just about my favourite five minutes of the day. It's cold but it's peaceful and just beautiful.

Real people clothes. Or... my version of them.

I found this sweater deep in the closet under all our junk. It's Michi's and way too big on me, from her bag of things from her Grandmother (lots and lots of scarves) so I have to be really, really careful. It is my favourite thing right now.

Lately I found a clothing/lifestyle movement from Japan called Mori Girls. Mori meaning forest. These are the girls of fairy tales. Simple, girly, stopping to smell the flowers. They dress similarly to the style I have been going for and I'm interested to see what else I can find.

I Wonder If I Can Get My Hair Even Bigger...

I had a super short shift this morning at work. Because I would have had overtime I worked from 4:30am to 9am. @.@ It was awesome.

Then I decided to mess with my hair and fight my fear of cameras.

I'm trying. I really am. ><

I'm sleepy so I've been rubbing my makeup off all day..

Well... this is going to be hard to deal with in the morning...

McTired

Work's been a little demanding lately. With some ups and downs. My Christmas paycheck was much better than I was afraid it would be! But now I have no day off in sight and my position at the store has changed a bit...

January is a bit of a rough month at McDonald's where, yes it's even possible in fast food, business can get slow at times. Our store in Stanwood can get busy but it's nowhere near the most happening store in our franchise. The holidays are over and until we start climbing back up towards Summer things are rather.. dead. It means less customers, more hours cut, and less workers in the store at a time. (Super hard when a random rush comes in and there's two of you on front counter.) It seems to... not have effected my workload at all. In fact, I'm in the middle of a fourteen day work week. -_-

My job at the store is the work of a regular crew member (serve customers, cook food, etc.) but it is also to train new and old employees. Particularly to handle the three day training period of new crew. It is rewarding work but tiring all the same. Sometimes you just want to go to work and not have to think about what you're doing and I get to talk through every little thing I do. But it's worth it in the end. With our schedules written a couple weeks ahead of time sometimes trainees aren't planned for and I get to add a good amount of hours into a pay period. It usually also means that I lose my days off. After actually getting New Years off from work I was looking at eight days on and then finally two days off to prepare for another long week. Now I'm looking at fourteen days on, some possible overtime and THEN a couple days off. I am looking forward to next Tuesday and my paycheck!

On that subject, I got a raise!

Which makes it a lot easier to think that now instead of my Head Crew Trainer title I am now just a Crew Trainer again. Apparently with the new management system my position doesn't... really exist. My boss said that my pay rate stays in tact, I am still her 'Go-to Crew Trainer', and she will back up the position on my resume. I can't help feeling a little bummed, though and I'm still trying to figure out exactly where my place is with my crew trainers and crew. For now I plan to just keep working like I have been and not worry about it too much. Nothing has changed, it just sucks. Haha. I guess I can't complain until I stop telling her no when she asks me to be a manager. ^^;;

...

My skin is having an adverse reaction to the sanitizer we use at work. I can't really do dishes anymore and I shouldn't be making towel buckets in the morning, or reaching in to get a clean towel. It itches, it hurts, and it looks like my right hand is slowly, finger by finger, beginning to transform into a monster's. I think the rest of me may follow.

No, I will not show you a picture.
